Meet The Artist

LK Gupta is a Herndon, Virginia-based fine artist who transitioned to a full-time art career in 2019 following a long corporate tenure. Originally from New Delhi, India, Gupta is a self-taught artist who further refined his technical expertise by earning a diploma from the National Institute of Fine Arts (NIFA) in Gurgaon, India.

“My artistic philosophy centers on the exploration of human moods, grace, dignity, and vulnerabilities. While I work with graphite, oils and pastels, I specialize in the use of colored pencils to create evocative imagery that veers away from traditional portraiture.”

Awarded 2nd place for his work “Three Sisters” by Hill Centre Galleries 2026 Juried Show in Washington DC .

“Tourists At The Fort” is part of Made in VA Biennial Exhibition at the prestigious Virginia Museum of Contemporary Art, and will be on display at the museum Sep 2026 - Mar 2027.

LK is among the chosen visual artists for his work “Play of Light” at Fairfax Art League’s Spotlight on the Arts exhibition in 2026.

The Expressive Hands collection of his color pencil paintings were selected by Touchstone Gallery, Washington DC as part of their 50 for 50 initiative.

Teravarna Gallery awarded him talent prizes for his paintings Dagger Queen and Three Sisters via an international juried competition (2026).
